Spring 2009: John Galiano (Paris Fashion Week)

John Galliano definitely knows how to put a production. The lighting, make up, hair, clothes… everything is spectacular. But his 2009 Spring collection, still dramatic, was more practical, more commercial and more “ready to wear” but still has that Galliano touch. The inspiration was the 18th century illustrator James Gillray.

The first few models were wearing a marabou cap with gold chain strap channeling their inner British Royal Guard and the following models were wearing a variety of colored pieces, ranging from overblown white and yellow “clown” to straight and spiky pink.

The collection was a mixture of tailored pieces- military inspired jackets, coat, and apple green dress and ethereal dresses. The washed-out watercolor print trend is also present in the collection.

So whimsical! It's like alice in wonderland meets marie antoinette times neon colors. I wish I could ever go to one of these kinds of shows.

John galliano! John Galliano collections are so fun to look at!
18th century, typical dark fascinating Galliano inspiration.
This collection reminds me a bit of circus, probably because of the colours.
I love the flowered (?) dresses though.
And the pale violet one.
Make-up: Spectacular as always.
Gosh, if I was a model for John Galliano I would want to cut all my hair off after the show.
Ack! Killer shoes indeed! Was there any runway fall?

Galliano = god.
I'll have to say FW07 and SS08 remain my favourites, although this is a gorgeous collection. The shoes are INSANE but I love them.

Now I know how they made the lips like that because of these close-ups!
Those pirate hats must have been difficult to balance >_<
